Cross-Train, Write Brain

Are you writing every day? What are you writing? Letters, poems, novels, lists, computer programs? Whatever it is, it counts.

Just as your body benefits from cross-training exercises, so does your brain. Whether you’re writing fiction or non-fiction, a book or a letter, for work or for pleasure, you still have to think, create, and put together whatever it is piece by piece.

So, if you’re struggling right now, not writing what you want to write, don’t get discouraged. Keep writing and pushing yourself. Learn to appreciate the benefits of those seemingly mundane forms of writing. Over time your writing skills will begin to improve. You’ll become faster and more creative. You’ll gain confidence. Maybe someday you’ll even become the writer you want to be.

There’s only one way to find out…Write!
